The garden, as we are discovering, has had very little done to it over the years, decades ... Brambles are rife and established, to say the least. Nettles too, in fact these guys have such complex root systems it is crazy trying to dig them up. There's also all manner of debris, mostly building material, but other random rubbish such as parts of children's outdoor climbing frames, cluttered the garden. The first chunk has gone, and another pile awaits removal ... while more needs to be uncovered from its cocoon of Brambles and Ragwort.

Oooppppsss - I've been a bit quiet
I will pop back with a proper update in the near future - we're working our way through the planning processes but hope to have some news soon.
In the meantime, here's a picture of the Hall & pond since the snow left.

The Ruins
General consensus suggests these ruins to the rear of the Hall are the remains of a previous building, Lower Scout and that John Mitchell built Scout Hall to adjoin to this. There does not appear to be an adjoining door, but it strikes me that the two buildings were connected as there remains a low lying wall between the two.
For now, there ruin is as enigmatic as the Hall itself, and I suspect will be such for a while longer.

S'more snow
Well, lots more snow, so we thought we'd take some more photos to share as the Hall just looks a tad beautiful.

Snow at Scout Hall
Sadly, we didn't get snow at Christmas, just an abundance of damp and rain ... but we now have snow and the Hall and its grounds have never really looked so beautiful. And we have more to come!!!
